The pro-Swedes are coming to get YOU.
Tickets booked to go spread love and chaos in Manchester town mid-June.
Very nice indeed, got cheap tickets and it is lovely to have some trip or other to look forward to when summer comes. Especially since money is always low in summer, it's even nicer to have paid for the tickets already! Perfect plan.
Thursday evening 10pm leaving Gbg city airport, going back home Wednesday morning (well early, but I'll live) 7am.
Next mission is to find out coaches to Manchester from London.
I'm busy having fun these days, not so much time for blogging. But a little is promised, as always.
If not so for my English to improve before going to the UK!

I'm mad, pissed off, infuriated and plain upset.
Found out today that because of cut downs in the public health care in this godforsaken country, someone close to me is having a burn-out. As in sick leave full time for 2 months. Which is quite long, and as I hadn't realised: pretty damn serious.
Now how did this happen, my mind goes?
These days the politics goes: "money money, more for the richer, privatise everything possible" and all of a sudden we're sat here with health care that doesn't stand tall to half of Europe's, where less and less money is put into making this better.
Shame this woman is a caring person who acutally enjoys her job and wants to work in health care.
Since half of my social circle votes right wing, I want to erase their phone no's, never speak to them again or even punch them in the face for being so ignorant to think it's OK or at all human to prioritise money and wealth before people and health. Catchy.
How did I make friends which such fools, I wonder?
I'm right. They're wrong.
And above all I'm worried sick.
Grow up, people!

let's go stealing cars
Trying desperately to get motivated enough to read this thick bloody book I need to read for the final written exam in this course on Wednesday. Since I'll be gone visiting a birthday girl Saturday to Sunday, I won't be getting much done those days, so I really need to finish this! Not happening, in spite of chocolate and numerous coffees. Keep falling asleep or remember something VERY important I "need" to check online. Could be blogs, could be facebook profiles, could be things to buy on ebay...
Useful.
Useless.
But I made my first own pie today, with peppers and broccoli, very good indeed. Even made the pie crust from scratch.
Who wouldn't marry me?

Annie for life
Other things meant to last a life time:
- parents
- siblings
- best friends
- one true loves
- teddy bears
- bamboo trees
- pianos
- smells
- gardens
- forests
- oceans
- humour
- football teams
- music
- dreams
- books
Trying to keep positive today. This list makes me happy. Lots of things I shouldn't be able to loose, unless I try very very hard (like burn up all forests in the world, or drink all of the ocean).
Bad day, didn't get the job I wanted. Also half the group I'm working with are being careless about the PM we've handed in for gradings today, and I'm not pleased with the result. I mean, it's not bad or I wouldn't have handed it in at all, but it's not as good as it could've been and more than our half of it is done by me and another girl. Unfair, but our own fault also.
Learning to work in groups is hard. But fun.

fancy a beer?
It's 10.42 am and I'm longing for an ice cold beer.
Not a good thing, since I:
1- got no money,
2- got school all day,
3 - need to work in the evening,
4- still has tummy aches every now and then so chances are beer won't help.
Atleast I've cleaned my flat so I can have people around today and tomorrow as the plan goes. Today: class mates for studying. Tomorrow Linnea with kid Anthony for dinner and socializing.
Breakfast: fruit salad and ginger tea
Music: Iggy Pop - the passenger
Book: 1900talet (translates: 20th century), by Svante Nordin. Yes, still.
Thoughts: beer

university
I'm all excited about life right now. It passes by so fast and I'm having so much fun at the moment!
Uni is great, I'm making friends left and right at the same time as I'm loving my flat and this big city life.
In 5 days they open the online application for uni programs starting this autumn. I've found a program I think I want to apply for, it's a candidate (word?) in Global Studies, a three-year-program. Since it's global and all, I'm thinking a year or maybe even two abroad which would do magic for my economy in comparison to moving abroad to pay for studying all my myself.
So there's a plan.
Now I've been worried about not getting in, since it's a very popular program where high grades are needed, especially with everyone studying now instead of work since there are no jobs and that. Blahblah.
Today I checked the scores for getting in last year, same term. 18.5 in high school grades, out of 20 possible. Mine are 16.49. Too low, crap.
Then the last third they take in, they do regarding to their "uni-preparing-test" or whatever this could be called. A test built on hard questions in 4 areas, it's on a short time limit and you do this all day. 2.0 is the best score you can get, which is very rare to do. On my first test I got 1.5, average is 0.9. Very good indeed! And since I juuuuust found out the limit last year was 1.4, I'm thinking this could be it! I might even get in on the first try!
Fingers crossed.
Also fingers crossed for the people I had the job interview with yesterday to chose me. I mean, they better - I'm the best they could get.
But still. People make mistakes. Let's hope they don't.
12 out of 1000 people applying got the interview though, I'm pretty OK with being one of them also.
Life is good. I am good.
As the kid I'm nannying said in a "let's name all super heroes we can think of"-conversation: "you forgot one. The worlds best Annie!"

the game is ON
I've now officially passed my first exam at uni. 5 points out of 7 according to the Bologna system. (not passed: 1-2 points, passed: 3-5 points, very well passed: 6-7 points). Very pleased with myself. If I now do better on the next two parts (one hand in group project, plus one more exam) I'll get top grades on this part of the course! Let's do it, game on.
Tomorrow is a big day also. 3.30 pm I've got a job interview for a job at Liseberg, a big funfair (Northern Europe's biggest). I've applied to work in the two photo shops where people can come in and have their photos taken in outfits or just to print on a mug or tshirt, etc.
Haven't picked out The Outfit yet, but I'll have to figure this out soon. What are you supposed to wear? I mean, I will be going there straight from school (9am - 2pm), and I don't normally wear suit jackets and stuff. Aaaah big issue here I come.
Busy bee working on our group project for the rest of the evening? Yes sir.

Going down - kid harpoon & florence
We sit in the car outside your house
I can feel the heat coming 'round
I go to put my arm around you
And you give me a look like I'm way out of bounds
Well you let out one of your bored sighs
Well lately when I look into your eyes
I'm goin down
We get dressed up and we go out, baby, for the night
We come home early burning, burning in some fire fight
I'm sick and tired of you setting me up
Setting me up just to knock-a knock-a knock-a me down
I pull you close but when we kiss I can feel a doubt
I remember back when we started
My kisses used to turn you inside out
I used to drive you to work in the morning
Friday night I'd drive you all around
You used to love to drive me wild
But lately girl you get your kicks from just driving me down
Wonderful song, and as my dear friend Francie said earlier: it is a song you can just listen to over and over again. Originally played and performed by Bruce Springsteen I hear.
Brings back memories, making me a bit sad.
I really don't think it's fair och convenient or fun or anything good at all to have most of my best friends spread out all over the world. It's great for travelling, cos you always have someone to visit, but it's so hard to leave again. Always.
As for now here they are:
At home: Lisa, Linnea, Toni, Höjner, Nathalie, Josef
Away: Francie (london), Adam (melbourne), Hannes (st anton, austria), Sanna E (linköping, north sweden), Sanna F (östersund, far north sweden), Anna (umeå, even further northern sweden)
Can't we all just make a plan and buy our own country and live there and be all happy?

Kid Harpoon
Kid Harpoon – The First E.P. Listen to this glorious man, people! Also a duett with him and Florence + the machines is made, called "Going down", wonderful and a must-listen-to.
As you won't know it, I'm unfortunately back from London.
Me and my "bff" Linnea had a great time, enjoying the spring time and shopping, plus great company in form of Francie & Nico, who were kind enough to let us stay at theirs for the whole stay. Also we met my old aupair-family in Archway, northern London, where the small kids I used to look after had grown and lost teeth and stuff. Amazing, and great fun to see them again. Next time I am staying longer, for sure.
Next time will probably be in June, when I also get to go to Manchester and hope not to get beat up for supporting Liverpool. And YES, I will be wearing my Liverpool scarf every day.
Tummy aches making me stay in tonight, but tomorrow there's a surprise party and I can't wait!

Wanted: thief
I just came up with a great idea, perhaps a bit long-fetched but still amazing.
If you are a thief, that is. Which I'm not, but this great idea is too good to save for my imagination.
So here we go:
Put an ad out, pretending to be a company looking for holiday workers. Only the person you're "looking for to employ" is described as someone who's there for the experience more than the money, i.e. someone who got enough money to support themselves anyways (meaning: rich bitch!), but with this work experience could land proper great works later on. Think: investment broker, car salesman for Ferrari, etc.
Then, you do all phone interviews where you ask a little about the people, and you casually slide in on the subject on if they're planning any holidays for the summer, and if so: when? It's not an irrelevant questions, since it's important for the company to know so they can set the schedule according to this.
After they've replied and spilled their guts (here you need to be all friendly so they tell you a little more than they normally would, but they do cos they trust you and want the job!), you find out addresses and family name, possibly even income and you go rob their houses while their away. You already know their holiday plans, so no need for more planning.
All you need to is simply:
- put an ad out
- have a few (or as many as you like) phone interviews
- go robbing
You could, if you want to be nice, or serious, or even might like to use the same company name next holiday season for similar ads / robbery, send out "sorry, but we've chosen to go with another person for the employment" - emails.
This is a great idea.
I should not be responsible if anyone does this!
Also I wouldn't advise anyone to tell exact dates and stuff for holiday plans, on first phone interviews. Perhaps not even the second interview, if this goes further.

Olympics, GOLD
Sweden are totally kicking all other Nations' asses in the Olympics. We rule on both the mens side as well as the womens.
Just wanted to update everyone on this amazing fact.
I'm off to school, and tonight it's afropowerdance with my mum before some more Olympics medals to win for our country!

Forgotten?
Sorry sorry, I've totally forgotten about this not so relevant or important blog of mine.
Even cheated and got myself another one, also in English, but not for anyone to read. Like a public diary, which is a little thrilling - what IF someone found the address and read all the saucy stuff I've been writing? Me like.
Quick update:
- I'm at uni, living in my own students flat in Gothenburg city
- I've turned 22, feeling old and grown-up but not always behaving it
- At the moment: watching loads of Olympics, Sweden is doing more than well.
- Started working out properly, it's even possible to go running cos my knee is so well and the muscles around it strong enough. Loving it!
- Single and fabulous! Realised I don't have the time or energy to date guys who's not love at first sight - it's easier that way, you just know and then you don't have to deal with all the fuss. ;)
Reading:
1900-talet by Svante Nordin, a book from Uni about the 20th century history and background for the course in International Relations I'm studying. Very interesting, well-written and I'd recommend it. Swedish language though.
Also: The Coroner by M.R. Hall. English, about a coroner with a prescripted drugs addiction and cut-in-half family, trying to solve a small community's problems. Not very well-written, but interesting story. A bit boring also, unfortunately.
Back another day with more thoughtful reading. Hopefully.
